Curative and protectant activity on SeptoriaIn trials, Firefly has given similar curative and superior protectant Septoria activity compared with equivalent rates of epoxiconazole and pyraclostrobin.

T2 (GS39-45) performance on brown rust
Apart from its Septoria credentials, Firefly is a superb protectant and curative brown rust option. It has a flat dose response curve which means that the brown rust curative activity from a 1.2-1.5 L/ha rate is similar to a 60-75% epoxiconazole + 40-50% pyraclostrobin 250 tank-mix. Firefly's brown rust profile has been extensively tested in Northern France, where conditions were similar to the 2007 UK rust epidemic.

T2 performance on yellow rust and Septoria
Both prothioconazole and fluoxastrobin have excellent yellow rust curative activity, this rust species being easier to target due to its more superficial growth habit just under the leaf surface. T2 yellow rust trials with an independent trials company in 2006 show the exceptional performance from Firefly compared to other azole + strob standards. With direct ratio comparisons, a 1.5 L Firefly rate delivered an extra margin over input cost of between £60-111/ha compared to commonly used tank-mixes.
